| Caring in Our Community
The Torrens Valley Community Centre is seeking dedicated volunteers
for its Caring in Our Community programme. The programme aims to
provide ongoing support or one-off assistance to people within our
community.
Assistance needed includes:
- Transport to appointments
- Light gardening
- Basic household tasks
- Companionship

Caring in Our Community is a service provided by volunteers from
the Torrens Valley Community Centre (Gumeracha) and the Hut Community
Centre (Aldgate).
All Volunteers undertake training which covers topics such as
confidentiality, listening skills and occupational health and safety.
Ongoing support and training is an important aspect of the programme.
Volunteer work on a basis of mutual respect, trust and
confidentiality. They choose their area of interest and are committed
to providing appropriate help to people in their neighbourhood.
Services are agreed on in partnership with people requesting
assistance.
If you can spare 3 hours a week or
more, we would love to hear from you!
People wanting to get back into the workforce are encouraged to
apply as the training cam be a pathway into the workforce.
